Random Acts of Kindness
In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, DSAWM asks you to perform “Random Acts of Kindness.” These acts represent the positive impact of people with Down syndrome who live, work and play in our community.
Random Acts of Kindness is a collaboration between Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action, Global Down Syndrome Foundation, International Down Syndrome Coalition, International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association, Lumind Foundation, National Down Syndrome Congress and National Down Syndrome Society and is an awesome way to share information about Down syndrome with your community, celebrate people with Down syndrome, and spread a little love and kindness in the name of Down syndrome!
- On March 21st, wear a t-shirt that says something about Down syndrome (We know you love wearing your Step Up shirts!)
- Choose an act of kindness, like paying for someone’s gas, taking pies to a fire station, shoveling snow, or leaving bubbles and chalk at a community park.
- Print these WDSD cards (print them double-sided and cut apart) to hand out when you are committing kindness.
- Take pictures of the random act and post on your social media pages with the hashtag #WDSDwestMI. Send us your pictures at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will share them, too!
SPREAD SOME KINDNESS IN THE NAME OF DOWN SYNDROME!
